Genetic and Molecular Determinants of Adipose Tissue Function

Revealing new knowledge of adipose tissue formation and function to improve human health

Goals:

  1. To identify the molecular mechanisms underpinning adipose tissue formation, distribution, and function.

  2. To establish how these mechanisms are (dys)regulated in physiological and pathological contexts such as obesity, diabetes, ageing, and caloric restriction.

  3. To leverage this knowledge for improved strategies to prevent and treat cardiometabolic diseases and other chronic, age-related morbidities.
